Heating in the Court House
We want all our hirers to feel comfortable in the Court House, and during the winter months, we aim to heat booked spaces. Due to the high costs of heating, we must use this resource carefully.
- We begin to heat the Court House during the mid to late autumn - there is no fixed "switch-on" date, but we check the weather forecast to decide the best approach.
- We time the heating carefully to come on at least 30 minutes before your booking time, so that your space is comfortable when you start your activity.
- For efficient use of energy, we heat each space separately.
- The Long Room is a large space and takes longer to heat. If you have booked the Long Room in winter, you may consider switching your booking to the smaller Square Room, depending in availability. Please let us know at least a week in advance so that we can adjust your booking.
- We are trying to keep costs down, and energy efficiency is important. If you have requested heating, please keep the outside doors closed as much as possible so the heat doesn't get out!
